EBS Member, Ray Barber, Featured in Lake Erie Lifestyle

One of our own has been published!

 

Ray Barber, an Erie Beer Society member since January, 2010 was featured in a great February Lake Erie Lifestyle Article.  If you've had the joy of talking with Ray at any of our meetings you're aware he knows historical local beer history and brewerania.  

 

In fact, the article describes how Ray had to build an addition on his garage to house more than 1,000 items.  Rare items include the original document illustrating the consolidation of Eagle Brewery, the Fred Koehler Brewery and the Conrad and Cascade breweries to form Erie Brewing Company.  Ray is full of some really great local history and continues to build his collection.  In fact I have given him quite a few EBS-related items from our monthly meetings.

 

Ray has been a very regular member of our little society (now 1,177 members!), attending nearly every meeting and talking about some of his brewery tours across the country.  He's a great part of our organization, so look for the white Koehler hat at the next meeting and say hi to Ray!
