Hey fellow beer fans,

After 21 months of operation, Erie Beer Society has recently surpassed 900 members! WOO HOO! We have sampled a lot of different brews at many of Erie's favorite drinking holes. We have t-shirts and beer steins and a snazzy looking website (if I do say so myself).

My question to you is, what do you want us to do? A brewery excursion? Beer and cheese pairing sessions? A beer festival? Add a comment on this blog post or e-mail me and let me know what you're thinking and we'll definitely listen. Then we'll try to do some really cool stuff soon.

Comment by Rick Dibell on September 17, 2011 at 5:21pm: I think some bus trips to do some brewery tours would be a great thing to do.We are lucky in that we have so many quality craft breweries within a couple hours by bus.Pittsburgh has several as does Cleveland.Not to mention the ones we have even closer to home.Bus chartered brewery tours would only cost a few bucks per person and we would be sampling many beers not available through Erie Beer.

I really enjoy the Erie Beer society. My friends and I enjoy the night out. I appreciate Erie Beer sponsoring the events. We get a great time and Erie beer gets some exposure for the merchandise. One suggestion might be a home brewing competition. Members could enter beers and the society members could judge them. Maybe give away a few steins and t-shirts. Just a thought.
