This was my first year at Beer on the Bay and I was more than satisfied with the venue, selection and quality of the beers, and overall organization of the event. This really is an awesome summer event that I am certain will continue to grow each year. The vendor staff members were exceptionally fun, friendly and knowledgeable about their products so it was also quite educational if you are just starting to enjoy craft beers. There were beers for novice, intermediate and advanced beer enthusiasts to enjoy. So looking forward to next year's event.
Just picked up my third souvenir tasting glass ( a mini imperial pint ) from the Great Taste of the Midwest in Madison, Wisconsin. This was the 26th annual event and from one until six on a beautiful August afternoon we did our best to sample everything available from more than 140 craft brewers from all over the Midwest. Many great beers with a lot of variations on rye and a tent dedicated to cask conditioned ales. My most memorable was the "Morning Delight" which was referred to as a breakfast stout by the brewer Toppling Goliath from Iowa.
THE BEER FEST WAS AN AWESOME EVENT. WE WENT TO THE EVENING SESSION AND COULDN'T HAVE BEEN MORE SATISFIED WITH THE SELECTIONS OF BEER AND VENDORS. NOONE RAN OUT BEFORE THE TIME WAS OVER (WHICH IS ALWAYS A POSSIBILITY WITH THE LATE SESSION) SO THAT IS A DEFINATE PLUS. THE BREWERS AND THEIR STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND ACCOMODATING REGARDING ANY QUESTIONS. THE HOME BREWERS WERE VERY ACCOMODATING AS WELL AND IT WAS FUN TO TRY THEIR CONCOTIONS. WE WILL DEFINATELY RETURN NEXT YEAR BUT MORE THAN LIKELY WILL ALSO ATTEND BEER ON THE BAY IN JULY.
Hey Jeff-This was my second Brew Fest.
My friends and really enjoyed the event.
The free cheese pretzels kept me semi-sober for the three hour event, we attended the 5-8pm segment.
WQLN is a great TV channel that really knows how to throw a party!!!
