Event Description

Join us for the return of Hofbrau's Maibock! Last April we had such a great response at Molly Brannigan's we thought it was time for it to re-appear at Erie Beer Society.

Hofbrau's Maibock is primarily a malty beer from the German brewing tradition with little hop character - neither bitter nor aromatic - though the style typically has a little more hops than the standard Bock. The color is golden to light brown or amber.

Comment by Bruce Alan Kibler on April 19, 2013 at 7:03am: Beifall isn't "Cheers" in German, Beifall is when something has pleased. Cheers is, "Prost", or "Prosit", or my favorite, "Hau weg das Zeug" (somewhat akin to "Bottoms up!").

This is an excellent beer, or is it Bier...pleasing, not really light and yet not really heavy, a bit on the sweeter side, as most Bockbiere are. Truly enjoyable to drink.
